About the author

Dr. Nitin Mehra, Ph.D.

Existential Psychotherapist · Counselling Psychologist · Author

His work sits where clinical psychology meets the older questions people have always asked about meaning, worth and belonging.

Dr. Nitin Mehra is an expert in Behavioral Sciences and Counselling Psychology, offering coaching, counselling, and training across diverse settings including private practice, clinics, rehabilitation centers, online platforms, and corporate workshops. His expertise spans Health Psychology, Relationships, Life Skills, De-Addiction, and Career Counselling.

Originally trained as a Computer Engineer, Dr. Mehra worked for over half a decade in leading companies such as Cognizant, JP Morgan Chase, and HCL Technologies. His deep interest in human psychology and existential philosophy gradually transformed his career path, leading him to pursue his true passion — understanding and helping people.

He completed his Master's in Counselling Psychology (2012–14) at Christ University, Bangalore, followed by a Ph.D. in Psychology with research focused on Existential Therapy.

Today, he directs his private practice Creative Existence Actualized in HSR Layout, where he works alongside a specialized team of doctors, psychiatrists, and health coaches trained in innovative approaches to coaching and counselling. He takes limited private sessions to ensure quality and personal attention, while dedicating the rest of his time to research and writing.

Therapy is not simply about managing symptoms; it is a collaborative space to understand the deeper architecture of your experiences, choices, and self-worth. Whether navigating acute life transitions, relationship dynamics, or existential questions of meaning, our work together focuses on building sustainable clarity, resilience, and personal authenticity.

His first book, You Are Not a Problem to Fix, grew out of that practice. It argues against the self-repair culture that treats a person as a list of defects, and offers instead a framework for integration: understanding where your responses came from, what they were protecting, and how they can change without self-contempt.
