Anger Management

Anger is very commonly experienced by all of us at times. And if used constructively, it can be a positive and empowering emotion. It can be defined as an emotional state which is experienced as an impulse to behave in order to protect, attack or defend in response to a threat or a challenge. Anger by itself is not classified as an emotional disorder. It becomes problematic only where it is experienced with such frequency and intensity that it hinders the achievement of goals, interferes with the ability to connect with others, or is unfavourable to one's health.

Problematic anger connected with poor impulse control is commonly seen in domestic violence and other forms of criminal behaviour. Other associated areas may be couple conflicts and alcohol abuse.
